Trip to Shesh Shaiya in Bandhavgarh National Park
Shesh Shaiya is located within Bandhavgarh National Park, which features a gigantic structure depicting Lord Vishnu lying on the seven-headed serpent of Sheshnag. The statue is 65 feet long and is believed to be the source of the Charanganga River, which passes through the park and has been vital for the survival of the wildlife there.
The statue stands for a very long and fabulous example of ancient Indian architecture. Behind the statue, there are dense trees bearing fruits and making the atmosphere serene. On the day of Diwali, the statue forms a fantastic scenario with lighted-up lamps on or around it.
Perched atop a hill, Shesh Shaiya commands a panoramic view of the lush surroundings around, hence posing as a quiet retreat. People from everywhere come to this place not only for spiritual purposes but also to behold its scenic beauty and get glimpses of tigers and leopards that haunt these woods.
